Concrete
Mixture Proportioning |
| |
Mix
design of concrete is simply the calculation of the
mass of its main components (cement, aggregate and water)
in order to achieve desired workability and strength.
Nowadays, chemical admixtures and minerals (pozzolans)
have also become an essential part of a good concrete
mix. ACI 211.1 provides a procedure for the basic mixture
proportioning of concrete. The amount of admixtures and
additives can then be calculated according to the manufacture's
specifications. |

You can download the free
ACI-CMD
software programmed by Mahdi Samadzad that follows the
ACI method for obtaining the mix design of normal strength
concrete. The estimation from this software the same
as any mixture proportion should be evaluated in terms
of strength and workability. Necessary adjustments can
then be applied. |
